We set up in 2014 and launched our first service in January 2015 and are a leading provider of effective "Real World"
pre-business start-up support at grass root level supporting unemployed, disadvantaged people who wish to take their first steps to exploring the idea of self-employment/starting a business, as a potential option for work.

BANANA SEEDLING SUPPORT - helps people to identify ideas for their own business and build on their current skills. We help to build confidence and resilience and we provide "hands on" customer-led support and training in a non-targeted way and with no time pressures - just great support from people who care! We don't rush things here - we make sure people are ready to take on the world of self-employment and are resilient enough to cope with the ups and downs of self-employment and have the support network in place to survive in business!. We don't just "tick" boxes and move on to the next client (like a lot of organisations) - we are here for our clients whenever they need us!
BANANA START UP SUPPORT - Exploring the viability of the business idea and prepare for start up. We do this by providing practical “real world” enterprise related skills training, information and advice and one to one mentoring support to help remove any barriers they may face.
Our training courses are fun, informative and highly engaging! We empower our clients with the essential knowledge and skills required, so they can make an informed choice about whether self-employment is for them and progress to relevant statutory business start-up support programmes such as the DWP’s NEA – New Enterprise Allowance (if they are eligible and if they decide to access such programmes).
We are different from traditional enterprise support delivered by Government funded organisations as we work 24/7 up to 10pm each day. We don't deliver a "Pop up" style of business training either. We provide support and training based on the needs of each individual, using tried and tested techniques as well as new and innovative teaching. We are passionate about helping people to build sustainable businesses in their community and specialise in working with people at grass root level.
BANANA BUSINESS TRAINERS are all fully qualified tutors and our Business Advisors are SFEDI Accredited with over 25 years experience.
Our charity, along with carefully chosen partners, are reducing the number of business failures and building sustainable businesses as well as creating the next generation of community Business Advisors!
We rely on the generosity of our funders so our projects and level of support varies according to what funds we have available at the time. At the moment, our projects are specifically supporting low income families and single parents.
TAILORED SUPPORT FROM PEOPLE WHO CARE! We are unique because we tailor the support to the needs of the individual, rather than a one size fits all service. We add social value, we help promote social inclusion and are helping to tackle poverty. Our service is delivered by people who care about the clients we work with.
